Doctors' Welfare Trust (DWT) has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting physicians in times of medical hardship by continuing its assistance for the treatment of Dr. Tanzia Hasan (MRMC-06), who has been undergoing treatment for Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) and Chronic Graft-versus-Host Disease (Chronic GVHD).

As part of DWT's ongoing physician welfare initiatives, financial assistance has recently been provided to support her follow-up treatment and essential medication. The support was approved through the Trust's Funding Board in accordance with its established welfare assistance process.

For nearly two years, DWT has remained alongside Dr. Tanzia Hasan and her family throughout this challenging journey. This continued support reflects the Trust's commitment to ensuring that members of the medical community are not left alone during times of critical illness and financial hardship.

The financial assistance was formally handed over on 16 July 2026 in the presence of representatives of Doctors' Welfare Trust. The official documentation was signed by Dr. Azmain Iqtider Ayon, Secretary General, Doctors' Welfare Trust, while the assistance was received on behalf of the patient by her spouse.

Doctors' Welfare Trust believes that the strength of the medical profession extends beyond hospitals and clinics—it lies in the compassion, solidarity, and collective responsibility shared among doctors. Through its welfare initiatives, the Trust continues to provide emergency financial assistance, medical support, ambulance services, blood bank services, educational assistance, and other welfare programs for doctors and their families.

Dr. Tanzia Hasan's journey is a reminder of why a strong physician welfare network is essential. DWT remains committed to standing beside every doctor and every medical family whenever support is needed.
